Sukholozhskcement to Build a New Production Line

OAO Sukholozhskcement, the leading cement producer in the Sverdlovsk Oblast, will launch a new production line with the annual capacity of 1.3 million tons. The line will enable the optimisation of the cement production; the demand for cement is 10-15% down at the moment. In the time before the crisis, the annual production volume at Sukholozhskcement reached 2.3 million tons.

The company informed RusBusinessNews that cement will be produced using the dry process which considerably reduces the gas consumption. The project cost is estimated at 190 to 200 million Euro; the launch of the line is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2009. OAO Interregional Distributing Grid Company of the Ural will build a 220 KV substation for the connection of the line to the power grid. Sukholozhskcement will invest 720 million roubles into the construction of the substation, whilst the power company will spend 500 million.
