VSMPO-Avisma is making a step towards the world's automobile giants

Autoliv, a Swedish company, intends to start cooperation with the VSMPO-Avisma Corporation in manufacturing of die-cast steering wheel frames made of magnesium alloys. This was announced by representatives of the European enterprise during their visit to the branch of the corporation in Berezniki.

The VSMPO-Avisma Press-Service has informed "RusBusinessNews" that the corporation is the only manufacturer in Russia that makes magnesium products using die-casting technology.

Autoliv is the world's leader in automotive safety systems. At present, the company manufactures 23 million steering wheel frames annually; by 2014 the output will increase to 29 million. The Swedish company works with Ford, General Motors, Renault-Nissan, Honda, Volvo, Toyota and other world's leading automobile corporations. In 2010, its sales totaled 7 billion US dollars.
