Oleg Sienko is Appointed Ural Railway Car Plant’s New Director General

Oleg Sienko is appointed the new Director General of OAO NPK Uralvagonzavod (Ural Railway Car Plant). The 43-year-old top manager is related to the structures of OAO Gazprom and the Rostechnologii Corporation. Before moving to Nizhniy Tagil, he chaired the Board of Directors of the Joint-Stock Company Electric Machine Building Works "LEPSE" (Kirov).

At the extended session of the Board of Directors of NPK Uralvagonzavod on 16 April 2009 Oleg Sienko made a statement that his main goal was the establishment of the portfolio of orders for rolling stock and road-building machines produced by one of the largest enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Oblast. "It is also important to achieve a reduction of production costs, an optimization of resources, and the solution to the issue of the price of materials and utilities purchased", Mr. Sienko pointed out.

Experts point out that the Gazprom connections of the new Director General will help the enterprise to receive orders to produce rolling stock which the gas corporation will need for the development of the Yamal Peninsula.

On 16 April the new Board of Directors of OAO NPK Uralvagonzavod was elected; it consists of 11 persons. Denis Manturov, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, is the Chairman of the Board as before.
