Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant and Caterpillar intend to cooperate in manufacturing of machinery and engines

The Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation and Caterpillar, an American concern, have entered into the stage of technical negotiations about the possibility of joint manufacturing of industrial machines and engines.

The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant - URALTRAC - a member of the corporation is planning to reach the output of 10 thousand engines in the next three years. The representatives of the corporation Press-Service have informed RusBusinessNews that the products will be supplied for shipbuilding, nuclear power and oil-and-gas industries and railway transport. Electro-Motive Diesel - a subsidiary of Caterpillar - can become a partner in manufacturing of large-sized diesel motors.

Another area of cooperation with the American corporation can include manufacturing of pipe-laying machines. Semen Mlodik, General Director of ChTZ-URALTRAC said that Caterpillar is successful in localization and manufacturing of road-building equipment in India and China. The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ) also has the similar experience in a number of countries.
