VSMPO will supply parts for Chinese aircraft

The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC, and the Chinese company, Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (SAMC) have signed a ten-year contract for purchasing of titanium forgings for the COMAC C919 Aviation Program. The contract was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow-2012, which will work till July 15.

The Corporation’s press-service has informed RusBusinessNews that VSMPO will supply titanium forgings for wings of the C919 passenger aircraft till the end of 2021. The parties are discussing the prospects for semi-finishing machining of parts. The total amount of the contract has not been announced. 

Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (SAMC) is one of the core centers of the Chinese program - COMAC. SAMC is responsible for final assembly of the large passenger aircraft, C919, and the regional aircraft - ARJ-21.

At the Farnborough International Airshow-2012, the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation is planning to sign about 4-5 contracts for the total amount of 1.3-1.4 billion US dollars.
