Ural Boeing Manufacturing, a joint venture between Boeing and the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC, is slated to receive a $10 million (USD) investment in its development. The funds will be used to purchase processing units for titanium parts.

The corporation’s press office told RusBusinessNews that the equipment will be installed at a new site where clamping devices for the wings of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will be manufactured. There are plans to double the production of these parts in 2013.

UBM, which specializes in the primary machining of titanium forgings for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as well as Russian aircraft, has been operating in Verkhnyaya Salda since 2009. For their final processing, parts are sent to Boeing's plant in Portland (USA) or to other subcontractors in the metal-finishing industry.
