Aircraft Industries (a controlling stake in which is owned by the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company) will supply the Russian Defense Ministry with four L-410 airplanes in 2013.

Andrei Kozitsyn, UMMC's CEO, told RusBusinessNews that a respective contract is scheduled to be concluded until the end of 2012. Crews currently flying heavy IL-476 airlifters (soon to go to the Russian army) will train on these light Czech planes.

The twin-engine L-410 has been in service since 1971. The Russian air force is currently using seven aircrafts of that type - all of which have been allocated to flight schools.
