Eurosatory and Russian Expo Arms are sharing their experiences

The experience gained holding the Eurosatory international exhibition of weapons and military equipment in Paris will be used to prepare for Russian Expo Arms in Nizhny Tagil. An agreement to that effect was reached during a meeting between the general director of the French exhibition, General Patrick Colas des Francs, and the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Evgeny Kuyvashev.

The regional government told RusBusinessNews that a national exhibition center is currently being created in Nizhny Tagil with the support of the Russian president, for the purpose of demonstrating land equipment for the army. At the Staratel firing range, which is the traditional venue for the technical show, a business center with a conference hall that seats 500 is being constructed, as well as new pavilions and a unique field information center. A helipad for three Mi-8 helicopters will also be built at the site, and equipment installed for working with aircraft at night.

Russian Expo Arms is traditionally held in the Sverdlovsk region every two years. The sponsoring exhibitor is the Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC, the manufacturer of the T-90S tank. In addition to Uralvagonzavod, the region is also home to 42 defense-industry companies, and their products make up almost half of the gross regional product.
