VSMPO is transitioning to Italian-American equipment

The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC continues to update its facility in Verkhnyaya Salda.

In the spring of 2013 the company will begin operating a four-meter CANTRY bandsaw (Italy). The biggest specialized saw in Russia, it will be able to cut rotationally and at different angles, making it possible to use materials more economically, in addition to utilizing recycled materials.

The corporation’s press office told RusBusinessNews that at the same time, the Verkhnyaya Salda business will complete the introduction of new equipment into the unit that machines forgings. The unit has begun the installation of that equipment, its twelfth piece of machinery from the American firm MAG Cincinnati. The other milling machines have been employed since 2012 to do the contractual work for the giant aircraft manufacturer Boeing, machining the materials found underneath the internal cylinder and bogie beam of the Boeing-787 airliner.
