THE TYUMEN OBLAST.

This autumn Chinese students will start studying at the Tyumen Oil and Gas University. The curriculum for 60 students of the Chinese Oil University will open with general courses in sciences and the Russian language.

The Chinese partners are particularly interested in post-secondary programmes. 20 students will study at the university's Oil and Gas College. Its diploma will guarantee them a prestigious job back in China.

Going forward, partner universities will expand cooperation to embrace graduate programmes as well. Also the "2+2" undergraduate programme is discussed, whereby the Chinese students will study for 2 years at home and for 2 years in Tyumen. Graduation projects will be defended in Tyumen, which will enable the Chinese students to earn diplomas from both universities.

As the Tyumen University representatives informed RusBusinessNews, China is the most attractive region in terms of education export. Siberian scientists are planning to expand cooperation with China's specialized colleges and universities.

The Tyumen Oil and Gas University is one of Russia's biggest and fast-developing education and science centres. It comprises a secondary school, 14 centers for professional post-secondary education, 10 institutes in Tyumen and 18 branches in the Tyumen region. The total number of students is over 60 thousand.
