THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST.

The SCO Youth Council (assembly) has been established prior to the June summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) heads of states that will take place in Ekaterinburg. The leaders of the youth wing "Zhas Otan" of the Kazakh party "Nur Otan", the All-China Youth Federation, the Youth Social Council of Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Youth Union and the Youth Union of Tajikistan took part in the foundation conference on May 4, 2009.

The SCO Youth Council/Assembly was established on the initiative of the Russian Youth Union and the Youth Public Chamber of Russia jointly with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the founders, the Youth Council is a step to the creation of a multipolar world where cultural and spiritual identity of each ethnos will be protected.

22.6% of the Earth's population live in the SCO member countries producing almost 16% of the world's GDP. The dynamics of the SCO countries' development is by far the world's strongest. In many ways these countries are the source of hope in the process of overcoming the current world crisis.

The Assembly representatives stated to RusBusinessNews that the youth wing will enhance the cultural and educational relations between the peoples of the SCO countries and give a new impulse to the work of one the most dynamically developing organisations in the world.Uzbekistan is a part of the SCO, along with Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan; however, Uzbekistan representatives have not come to the constituent conference held in Ekaterinburg.
