KAZAKHSTAN

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan has approved an intergovernmental agreement with Russia regarding the procedure for developing the Vesenny-Aralchinsk copper deposit located in the Orenburg (Russia) and Aktobe (Kazakhstan) regions. The mineral rights belong to the businesses that make up the Russian Copper Company Group.

RCC’s press office told RusBusinessNews that the ore mined at the Aralchinsk site in Kazakhstan will be processed by the Aktyubinsk Copper Company. Raw materials from the Russian section of the deposit - the Vesenny site - will be sent to the Ormet, OJSC processing plant in the Orenburg region. Both companies are subsidiaries of RCC Group.

Between 2004 and 2014, the Russian Copper Company has invested over $620 million USD in the group's businesses in Kazakhstan: the 50 Let Oktyabrya and Priorsky mines have been put into operation and two processing plants have been built.
