VSMPO-AVISMA has produced premium versions of titanium ingots for Rolls-Royce.

The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC has begun manufacturing titanium ingots using a new technology – especially for Rolls-Royce PLC.

The corporation’s press office told RusBusinessNews that three metal remeltings have been replaced by two – using scull and vacuum-arc furnaces.  This results in a premium version of the alloy that is intended for the production of disks (the rotating parts of aircraft engines).

Rolls-Royce is a world-famous manufacturer of aircraft engines for the French Airbus Group.  VSMPO's titanium alloys are used in the production of billets and disk forgings that are installed in Airbus aircraft engines.
