Karabashmed, CJSC, is switching over to Russian equipment

By the end of 2015 the Irkutsk Heavy Machine-Building Plant, PA, OJSC, will supply a copper pouring system for blister copper to Karabashmed, CJSC (a member of the Russian Copper Company Group).

The Press Service of the RCC Group has informed RusBusinessNews that the equipment is being designed specifically for Karabashmed with consideration of technical requirements of the existing production and conditions of operation.

The system will help to automate the process of blister copper pouring and, as a result, to increase the output. After the second sulfuric-acid facility is launched for disposition of metallurgic gases, Karabashmed is planning to produce up to 120 thousand tons of blister copper a year.

Besides, the new equipment will help to increase the volume of processing of the RCC Group’s raw materials – the Mikheevsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works alone produces 270 thousand tons of copper concentrate a year.
