French Snecma approved titanium sponge of VSMPO-AVISMA

At the end of 2014, rotor-grade titanium sponge of AVIMA (the subsidiary of the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC, in the Perm Region) was approved by Snecma, a French company.

The representatives of the Press Service of the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation have informed RusBusinessNews that the work for obtaining the certificate lasted for two years.

Taking into account the approval by Snecma, the production of rotor-grade titanium sponge was approved by all the world’s leading manufacturers of engines for the aviation and space industry, including General Electric and Pratt & Whitney.

Snecma is a French company, one of the global leaders among aerospace corporations specializing in design and manufacturing aircraft engines. The company manufactures engines for Boeing, Airbus, and Sukhoi Superjet 100 airliners.
