The VSMPO-Avisma Corporation, OJSC, to start developing ilmenite deposit in Ukraine

The VSMPO-Avisma Corporation, OJSC, will start developing Volchansk titanium and zircon deposit before the end of 2015. The deposit is located in the Dnepropetrovsk region (Ukraine).

Total volume of reserves of ilmenite, rutile, zircon and other minerals of the deposit is estimated at 5 million tons. The peak production level is supposed to reach 50 thousand tons per year.

The Press Service of the Corporation has informed RusBusinessNews that previously VSMPO-Avisma expected to start the development in 2016. The Corporation explained that the rescheduling resulted from the enterprise technical availability for project implementation. However, experts note that the deposit development will directly depend on the current situation in Ukraine.
