At the 7th International Maritime Defense Show in St. Petersburg, the VSMPO-Avisma Corporation showcased the products that are sought after in shipbuilding and will help to solve the problem of substitution of imported components with Russian similar products.

All major shipbuilding design bureaus operating in Russia showed their interest in the VSMPO products. The representatives of the Corporation conducted negotiations with the Prometey Research Institute of Structural Materials, the Baltic Shipbuilding Plant, and the Gidropribor Concern, RusBusinessNews was informed by the Press Service of the Corporation.

"VSMPO participates nearly in all projects of military and civil shipbuilding where materials of high strength, light weight and good corrosion resistance are in demand. Titanium is the best choice for composite-material hulls of high-speed and maneuverable assault landing ships of a new generation and for nuclear-powered icebreakers, which must be able to withstand high impact loads," Yulia Shashkova, Head of the Machine-Building Marketing and Sales Department of VSMPO, said.

The discussion of the areas of the long-term cooperation between VSMPO-Avisma and the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) was a significant event during the exhibition. USC outlined its growth areas for the next few years, thus making it possible for the Ural metallurgists to plan their participation in joint projects.
