100+ TechnoBuild—an international forum and exhibition—brought more than 500 experts from Russia and other countries to Ekaterinburg where they participated in 120 various events. The exhibition area amounted to 30 thousand square meters, according to RusBusinessNews.

100+ TechnoBuild is dedicated to design, construction, and operation of structures as well as to matters of architecture, urban planning, energy efficiency, comfortable urban environment and improvements, and it is of a great importance to the Ural capital. It jump-starts many significant urban planning projects and forms a site for communication between the city government and developers, representatives of the regional and federal authorities, construction workers, scientists, and architects.

For example, Vladimir Yakushev, Russian Federation President’s envoy in the Ural Federal District, the Sverdlovsk Region Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev, Ekaterinburg Mayor Alexey Orlov, Irek Fayzullin, the minister of construction of the Russian Federation, and Marat Khusnullin, the deputy prime minister, attended the "120 million square meters a year. Transformation of the Construction Industry" plenary session. During the discussion, the participants brought up matters of integrated urban development, involvement of community in projects discussion, reduction of administrative obstacles to obtaining construction permits, and housing development plans, amendments to the City Planning Code, etc.

Alexey Orlov noted that a new draft of Ekaterinburg City Master Plan is anticipated to be adopted early in the year 2022; at the moment, the work on its draft is still under way.

"Ekaterinburg City Master Plan for the period up to 2025 is a fundamental document of land use planning which we live up to. A substantial part of it was taken from its 2004 version, and now there are some inconsistencies with federal laws concerning the contents and form of the document; besides, it does not reflect current actions of short-term and middle-term planning. Therefore, we, in collaboration with the Guild of Ural Builders and the professional community, decided to make amendments to the existing Master Plan. They are currently at the stage of public hearing,” he said and accentuated that the Master Plan for the period up to 2045 is under development at the moment.

To develop the city traffic infrastructure, an agreement on cooperation between Ekaterinburg city administration and Mosinzhproekt, JSC in terms of the above-ground metro construction has been signed at 100+.

An unprecedented agreement on cooperation on matters of architectural and urban planning appearance of capital construction projects has been concluded between the city government and the Guild of Ural Builders. It will improve the quality of architectural solutions made in the course of buildings construction or renovation.

"The agreement provides for negotiation of architectural and urban planning appearance that is not legally regulated at the moment. Given that major developers bear serious social responsibility, we will make such procedures mandatory. Developing companies are concerned about appearance of our beloved city," said Alexey Orlov.

Large developers shared their plans for integrated urban development with participants of the forum. For example, they disclosed the dates when construction of a medical cluster and new districts with low-rise buildings in the south-west of the Ural capital is to be launched.
