Siemens is Preparing Two Gas Turbines for Dispatch to Perm

Siemens AB in Sweden will dispatch two gas turbines SGT-800 to the Perm Krai in July 2009. They will be installed in Perm Heat electric generation plant No 6 which is currently being reconstructed by IES-Holding.

Together with the steam turbine SST-600 the new turbines will form a 120 megawatt gas-vapour power generating unit. IES Holding is investing 5 billion 385 million roubles in the plant expansion.

The IES Holding representatives informed RusBusinessNews that the reconstruction of the Perm power plant No 6 is one of the top-priority investment projects implemented by the Holding. This project will help eliminate energy shortage in the Perm generation system and connect the newly built houses in Perm to the heat supply system.

Siemens deems the joint project with IES Holding as indicative in terms of energy efficiency and environment protection. The new power unit will help reduce the annual greenhouse gas emissions by 600 thousand tones.
