Elena Konovalova, a teacher from the general education school in the village of Filkino (Serov urban district), has been recognized as one of the best at the Guardians of the Russian Language All-Russian Professional Olympiad. The final stage and the solemn ceremony of summing up were held in Tula. The best teachers shared a prize fund of 18 million rubles.

The finalists, 85 educators representing 84 subjects of the Russian Federation and a general education school at the Russian Embassy in France, had passed through two selection stages: a remote stage and a regional one. The first stage involved 11,868 Russian language teachers from across the country participating in the Olympiad, and the second one – 3,343 educators.

The finalists wrote a dictation and developed a lesson plan based on the works and life of Leo Tolstoy, inspired by a trip to Yasnaya Polyana. They also participated in thematic masterclasses, visited the Tula Arms Museum and the Tula Defense Museum, and on the final day, discussed the state of the modern language and ways to popularize literate Russian speech with federal and regional experts.

The winner of the Olympiad was Tatyana Politova, a Russian language teacher at the Lyceum of People's Diplomacy in Syktyvkar. Among the prize winners were Aleksandra Cherkasova (Gymnasium 2, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk), Anastasia Vasilevskaya (Sodruzhestvo Educational Center, Voronezh), Elena Zhiltsova (Middle School 2, Pestovo), and Ksenia Bulatova (Middle General Education School 29, Kostroma).

This year, the Empathy Charitable Foundation of Mikhail Shelkov, a VSMPO-AVISMA's shareholder, established a program to support teachers. Thirty teachers – the winner, prize-winners, and those following them in the tournament table – will receive monthly payments of 50,000 rubles from the Empathy Foundation throughout the year.

Among the laureates of the foundation's charity program is a teacher from the Sverdlovsk Region: Elena Konovalova teaches at the main general education school in the village of Filkino, as reported by RusBusinessNews in the Empathy Foundation.

"I really enjoyed the entire event. Among the competitive tasks, the most challenging was preparing a lesson based on Tolstoy's works. The main difficulty was to fit everything into the time limit, select the most important things, and keep within five minutes for the presentation. I was also very pleased with the atmosphere, there was a 'homely' environment among like-minded people: there was no sense of competition, colleagues helped each other and even sometimes prompted. Many thanks to the organizers and the Empathy Foundation for such an opportunity!" – shared Elena Konovalova.

The Guardians of the Russian Language Olympiad was established by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, organized by the Academy of the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Empathy Charitable Foundation. The all-Russian stage of the competition was held with the support of the government of the Tula region in the Octava cluster.
