VSMPO-AVISMA to hire more than 180 school students for summer jobs

SVERDLOVSK REGION

In the summer of 2025, the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation will employ over 180 school students from Verkhnyaya Salda and Nizhnyaya Salda. Graduates of the Prospect Professional and Industrial Cluster — a corporate training initiative — will undertake practical placements in the company’s workshops and divisions throughout the Sverdlovsk Region.

During the academic year, students from the two towns received free training in one of the eleven in-demand trades at VSMPO, following the model of the Soviet system of vocational training and production centers. Training areas included digital information processing, design work, machining of parts, non-destructive testing, bench fitting, metrology of measuring instruments and systems, quality management, laboratory test technology, construction, and occupational health and industrial safety. Classes were taught by instructors from the Yevstigneyev Verkhnyaya Salda Aviation Metallurgy College and by corporate experts, VSMPO-AVISMA’s press service told RusBusinessNews.

At the end of May, more than 180 young specialists received certificates confirming their trade and employee grade. On June 2, the first group of 70 graduates began their practical work in the workshops of VSMPO-AVISMA, where they will be working four hours a day under the guidance of dedicated mentors. Their monthly wage has been set at roughly 26,000 rubles.

"For several years we have been successfully developing Prospect PIC, this unique career-orientation project. It has already earned recognition at the national level. The project provides an excellent launchpad for school students, helping them take their first steps toward choosing a profession and shaping their career goals. In this way, we continue our important work in youth career guidance," said Timur Rakhmangulov, HR Director of VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, PJSC.

This is the project’s fourth graduating cohort. Since 2021, about 800 school students have gained professional skills and got summer jobs at VSMPO-AVISMA, with some trying out several different trades.

The cluster’s work supports the objectives of the Active Employment Support federal project as part of the Workforce national project. In 2024, the initiative was recognized as the best in the Employment of Minors Aged 14–18 category in the All-Russian Competition for Best Youth Employment Practices run by Russia’s Ministry of Labour.
