New Clinker Production Line to be Launched in Magnitogorsk

The Magnitogorsk Cement and Refractory Plant (part of the OAO Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine Group of Enterprises) is preparing to launch the fifth clinker production line. The work on the new assembly began back in March 2008. Its major component - a revolving kiln - occupies more than 500 square metres and has the annual production capacity of up to 300 thousand tons of clinker.

A full scale test run of the kiln is scheduled for the end of March - beginning of April 2009, RusBusinessNews was informed. The installation and set up of the electrostatic precipitator has also been completed. The precipitator removes almost 100% of hazardous substances from the emissions into the atmosphere. All project start-up and commissioning must to be completed by the end of May this year.
