Gazprom Will Test New ChTPZ Products

The ZAO ChTPZ Group and the ООО Metalloinvest Managing Company have agreed to supply unique large diameter pipes to Gazprom and Transneft. RusBusinessNews was informed that a fundamentally new type of product will be sent for testing; this product is welded pipes used for the construction of main pipelines with operating pressures of up to 100 atmospheres. This type of production was made possible by the completion, at the end of 2008, of the full upgrade of the 2800 rolling mill at the Ural Steel Combine and the upgrade of the tube electric welding unit of the Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ). As experts note, the upgraded production facilities give the needed competitive advantage to the Metalloinvest and ChTPZ plants in their fight for market share.
