THE PERM KRAI.

An inspection of Uralkali's labor safety system has been completed. The company's Mass Media Department told RusBusinessNews that the experts of the Perm State Technical University (PSTU) mainly addressed the issues of labour protection management, interaction with contractor organizations that operate within the company's premises, and labour protection activity management at all four of its ore mining authorities.

The expert commission has confirmed that Uralkali's activity is focused on establishing and maintaining safe labour conditions for its employees, and complies with relevant requirements of the labour legislation and state labour safety standards. Based upon the inspection results the validity term of the company's Labour Safety Compliance Certificate has been extended until January 2011.

According to Sergei Dyakov, Director General of OAO Uralkali, certification of job sites can provide a realistic picture of existing labour conditions thus allowing to improve them with the view to minimizing the possibility of accidents and illnesses amongst employees.

According to Grigori Feinburg, Chairman of the Expert Commission, Director of the Perm Krai Labour Safety Centre, OAO Uralkali implements, and constantly improves, an efficient system of labour safety management aimed at preventing cases of job-related accidents and occupational illnesses. "Upon completion of a detailed inspection our expert commission concluded that Uralkali meets all the labour safety commitments made to its employees," said Mr. Feinburg.
