JSC Uralkali has awarded special grants to best students of the Perm State Technical University. In the last three years these grants have been given to 99 students studying at Mining/Oil and Chemical Engineering Departments.

Good marks, writing papers within the sphere of activities of the company, successful completion of work experience programmes, dedication to the trade - these are the main criteria for the selection of candidates. The special monthly grant of 1,500 roubles is awarded for one semester.

In 2006-2008 JSC Uralkali gave out about 25 million roubles to the Perm State Technical University and its Berezniki branch. This money was spent on renovation of classrooms and labs, the modernization of equipment of the higher education establishments, the establishment of the Department for Technology and Integrated Mechanisation of Development of Mineral Deposits.

Yelena Samsonova, the Chief HR Officer of JSC Uralkali, told RusBusinessNews that the work with promising students of technical disciplines is a part of the company's strategic programme for the development of personnel. "Our company has ambitious plans for the development and expansion of the production. In order to successfully achieve these goals we need not just the new technologies but talented and proactive specialists," Ms Samsonova pointed out. "This is why despite the difficult economic situation Uralkali's cooperation with the leading technical university of the Perm Krai is ongoing. In 2009 the company gave the Perm State Technical University more than 9 million roubles."
