SMS MEVAC Equipment Commissioned At Magnitogorsk Iron&Steel Works

THE CHELYABINSK OBLAST.

"Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works" JSC will start producing pipe making steels up to X120 strength class. Also the enterprise will start making steel for automotive panel sheets with carbon content under 0.003% and sulphur content under 0.001%. 

The company informed RusBusinessNews that the out-of-furnace steel processing complex commissioned in the oxygen-converter area gives the company new opportunities. It will enable the company to batch cast on the continuous casting machine №6. The machine is designed for the production of at least 2 million tons of slabs for the production of thick sheets on the mill 5000.

The equipment for the new complex at the "Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works" JSC was supplied by SMS MEVAC, a German machine building corporation.
