Sverdlovsk Oblast has rough idea of defence contracts for 2010

THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST

Military equipment and arms worth 1 trillion 174 billion roubles will be purchased for the Russian army in 2010. Last year just over a trillion roubles has been spent on this.

Enterprises of the Sverdlovsk Oblast will receive contracts worth 18 billion roubles. Aleksandr Sukhorukov, the Director of the Federal Defence Contracts Service, told RusBusinessNews that it cannot be ruled out that further contracts may come before the end of this year.

The 27 large enterprises of the military industrial complex and 11 research and development bureaus situated in the Sverdlovsk Oblast employ 102 thousand people. The total value of production at these amounted to 97 billion roubles in 2009.
