The OAO Uralchimplast Seeks Entrance To The British Market

The ОАО Uralchimplast, one of the biggest Russian producers of synthetic resins, plastics, and organic chemicals, seeks an opportunity to enter the UK market. On 7 April 2009, the potential of this enterprise located in Nizhniy Tagil was assessed by British diplomats who were headed by Mrs. Caroline Wilson, Minister Counsellor (Economic), from the UK Embassy in Moscow.

RusBusinessNews was informed by the company that Alexander GERDT, the Director General of the ОАО Uralchimplast, showed the guests the shop floor for the production of resin-coated proppants with the capacity of 30,000 tons per year, the shop floor for ortho-cresol production and re-built production of PVC plasticates. Taking into account the increase in demand for plasticates, Uralchimplast has launched a state-of-the-art extrusion-type line for the production of granulated PVC plasticates by Bausano, thus having increased the production volume of plasticates by 40%.

At present, phenol (42%) and urea (15%) resins, plasticates (15%), ortho-cresol (6%), furane (6%) and ion exchange (2%) resins make up the main share of Uralchimplast products.
