The Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant, JSC (KMEZ, a subsidiary of the Russian Copper Company) produced the first 8 meters of electrolytic copper foil in thickness of 35 microns. They were produced during start-up operations at the new copper foil electrolysis shop.

As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the Press Service of the Russian Copper Company, the shop will produce foil of the most required types – the thickness ranges from 9 to 105 microns in compliance with the IPC-4562 international standard. Foil will be used in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries for industrial electric vehicles and in manufacturing printed circuit boards for electronic industry.

The construction of the copper electrolysis shop boasting high-tech equipment started in 2018. The investment in the project amounted to more than 3 billion rubles.
