The Psychological Workshop project has been launched in Verkhnyaya Salda. It is aimed at increasing the psychological literacy of parents and creating a favourable psychological climate in schools. The project was developed by Tula Higher Technical School on the initiative of Mikhail Shelkov's Empathy charitable foundation.

On March 11 and 12, seminars on the topic "Teenager. Parent. Teacher: How to Build Constructive Interaction in Modern Educational Environment" were held with the participation of the project's scientific adviser Ilya Slobodchikov, a well-known psychologist, a native of the Sverdlovsk region, Professor and Doctor of Psychology, the foundation’s press service told RusBusinessNews.

Educational psychologists, social educators and representatives of the administrations of eight schools of Verkhnyaya Salda actively asked the expert questions on how to fully unleash the potential and talent of schoolchildren and build relationships with their parents. High school students were more interested in self-fulfilment, constructive communication with adults and adequate response to conflicts. For all of them, Ilya Slobodchikov described in detail practical techniques and also named a universal tool for creating such an atmosphere in the classroom so that every child could become successful.

On the second day of the meetings, Ilya Slobodchikov took part in the Citywide Parent-Teacher Conference organized by the Parent Committee of Verkhnyaya Salda. Its participants asked to held such free consultations on a regular basis and make them longer.

"We will analyse the feedback on the results of the meeting to understand which topics interested the parents most, but it is already obvious that such meetings are needed very much. It is not often possible to get a professional and understandable answer to your questions," Nadezhda Evdokimova, the head of the Parent Committee, commented.

The first events gathered more than 180 teachers, parents, and schoolchildren of the city.

"All the meetings were extremely productive, informative, and very meaningful. We saw a sincere interest of adults in the issues discussed, their desire to find optimal scenarios for interaction both with each other and their children. As for teenagers, they are always admirable, lively, straightforward, and, by the way, very thoughtful. I have no doubt that the project will have a very interesting future," Ilya Slobodchikov said.

According to Mikhail Shelkov, the founder of Empathy, the foundation will hold seminars with the participation of invited psychologists quarterly.

"Teachers and parents of schoolchildren will be able to choose the topics of meetings themselves, it can be both an issue that has been worrying them for a long time or something that is just interesting to think over in their spare time. The main thing for us is not to impose a certain path for development upon teachers but to work it out step by step together with them," he stressed.
