SVERDLOVSK REGION

Schoolchildren of grades 8-9 and teachers of physics, mathematics, and computer science from the Perm Territory and Sverdlovsk Region have received an opportunity to attend Science to the Regions × Empathy free educational session in Moscow. It will be held from the 18th to 31st of March at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and Pyotr Kapitsa Physics and Technology (Phystech) Vocational School with the support of the Empathy Charitable Foundation of Mikhail Shelkov and Phystech Schools Development Fund.

The program includes training by the university's best teachers, visits to museums and closed laboratories, preparation for Olympiads and scientific conferences, as well as walks and tours around the Russian capital.

At the end of classes, the schoolchildren will receive certificates, while the teachers will get certificates of advanced training. MIPT methodologists will conduct additional online consultations with the students throughout the year to help them prepare for conferences and Olympiads. Schoolchildren who have formed their projects will be able to take part in the Start in Innovation or Start in Science conferences in March 2024, as well as participate in any other conference of their choice, representing their region at the All-Russian level, as RusBusinessNews was informed by the Press Office of the Empathy Charitable Foundation.

The selection of participants started on 17th January. However, it is possible to submit an application until 17th February inclusively. To do this, the applicants need to register on the website, pass a profile online test (for students in grades 8-9), attach a short motivation letter describing their achievements, and answer the question: "Why do you want to participate in the project?"

The educational session offers two major areas: physics and mathematics for participants from the Perm Territory (Perm and Berezniki) and IT and mathematics for participants from the Sverdlovsk Region (Ekaterinburg, Verkhnyaya Salda, and Nizhnyaya Salda). Due to the support of Mikhail Shelkov's Empathy Foundation, for those who are shortlisted for the session the participation will be completely free.

More information about the project is available on the website of the Empathy Foundation.
