01.06.2011 — News
Research and Production Corporation UralVagonZavod is beginning its technical upgrade of the equipment at its subsidiary CHTZ-Uraltrak. Thirteen billion rubles will be invested in the modernization, which will take until 2020 and be funded by the corporation itself as well as by the federal program "Development of the Russian Military-Industrial Complex".
The corporation's press office told "RusBusinessNews" that refitting the factory will affect casting and forging production as well as the thermal, testing, and mechanical complex. This will permit the serial production of diesel engines for specialized and civilian applications that meet the highest international standards.
CHTZ-Uraltrak, which operates out of Chelyabinsk, is a major producer and seller of bulldozers, pipelayer equipment, front-end loaders, and mini tractors, products that are in high demand in the petroleum, mining, construction, and timber industries. RPC UralVagonZavod owns 80% of its shares.
