Uralvagonzavod is presenting its new designs at EXPO-1520

MOSCOW.

The Uralvagonzavod research and production corporation is taking part in the Third International Railway Exhibition EXPO-1520, which opens Sept. 7 in the town of Shcherbinka, near Moscow.

The corporation's press office told RusBusinessNews that an entirely new type of gondola car would be shown there, the model 12-196-01, which is fitted to bogie 18-194-1. With an axial load of 25 tons, it can run up to 500,000 kilometers before needing repair.

Professionals are also expressing interest in the model 15-5103-07 tank car for transporting oil products, which has a boiler with an increased diameter.

EXPO-1520 is an international exhibition, specializing in the most advanced equipment, technology, infrastructure, services, and logistics for the railroad industry. This year the show attracted 400 companies and transportation operators from 18 different countries.

The president of Russian Railways, Vladimir Yakunin, visited the show in its opening hours, and Uralvagonzavod's general director, Oleg Sienko, gave him a tour of the company's exhibit.
