MOTIV Telecommunications Group Launches Satellite Communications Network

OOO Mobiphone-2000, an affiliate of the MOTIV Telecommunications Group, has obtained a license to operate the stations of their own satellite communications network. Its structure includes the central terrestrial station in Ekaterinburg as well as five remote terminals in the Kurgan, Tyumen, and Samara oblasts, in the Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrugs.
The MOTIV satellite communications network is focused on providing the entire range of telecommunication services including data transmission and voice traffic, Internet access, and virtual private networking (VPN). It operates on the basis of geostationary satellite re-transmitter of OAO GAZPROM Space Systems - Yamal-200 (orbital position 90 degrees East Longitude).
The satellite coverage area and the location of the central operating station allows to organize the work of terminal stations of the MOTIV satellite communications on 90% of the area of the Russian Federation with 99.99 % availability during the year. The working capacity of the MOTIV satellite communications system is ensured by the use of the equipment manufactured by the world's IT sector leaders - iDirect Technologies, Paradise Datacom, ASC Signal, Memotec, CISCO Systems, IBM, and APC - in the construction of the satellite network.
RusBusinessNews was told by the MOTIV Telecommunication Group that the deployment of the satellite communications systems will allow MOTIV to optimize and accelerate the development of their own telecommunications network.
