Kyshtym Copper Electrolyte Plant started operation of the Diefenbach filtration facility
07.12.2011 — News
The Kyshtym Copper Electrolyte Plant, CJSC (the enterprise of the Russian Copper Company) has commissioned a filtration facility manufactured by the Diefenbach Company. Nine obsolete filters were replaced by two automatic chamber filter presses.
The press office of the enterprise has informed RusBusinessNews that the new equipment is three times as efficient as the former equipment. Due to the Diefenbach facility the resulting filtrate does not need any additional treatment. The improved performance of the equipment and reduction of the process flow resulted in a 25% decrease in power costs within the first month of operation.
The cost of the filtration facility, including its installation, amounts to about 30 million rubles. The renovation of the industrial waste treatment department at the Kyshtym Copper Electrolyte Plant did not require shutdown of the operations and was completed in accordance with the modernization program. In total, in 2011 the plant allocated about 40 million rubles for the environmental protection program.
