THE KURGAN OBLAST.
In 2008 investments into Kurgan Oblast amounted to 32 billion roubles. RusBusynessNews was informed by the regional Government that this indicator is amongst the best in Russia and that it will be increased through the implementation of new investment projects.
For 2010 it is planed to put into operation the Kurgan Heat Power Station-2 with the electric power generating capacity of 222 megawatts and thermal power of 250 gigacalories per hour. The new generating facility constructed by the Intertechelectro-New Generation Group of Companies will cover 40% of the regional electric power shortage and completely satisfy the Kurgan's heating needs.
The construction is being carried out at the private investors' expense. For instance, the Czech Export Bank has issued the loan for the construction work. PSG international a.s., a Czech company, is the EPC contractor in the project; this company, along with performing the construction and design work, also purchases machinery.
The Kurgan Oblast Authorities expect to receive further funds for the construction of the Heat Power Station-2 from the RF Investment Fund; they also are in negotiations with Vneshekonombank regarding the allocation of 2.5 billion roubles for the implementation of the programme of reconstruction of the public heat supply to the region's municipalities.
