UVZ and Bombardier are getting ready to build trams together

In 2012 the Uralvagonzavod research and production corporation, OJSC and the Canadian mechanical-engineering company Bombardier will establish a joint venture in Ekaterinburg to manufacture trams. The parties have signed a letter of intent for this purpose.

Oleg Siyenko, the corporation's general director, told RusBusinessNews that the company will be established on a parity basis. Ural Transport Machine-Building Plant, OJSC, is a subsidiary of Uralvagonzavod and specializes in tram production.
