24.04.2009 — News

THE YAMALO-NENETS AUTONOMOUS OKRUG.

General Electric experts started training the Noyabrsk gas-and-steam power plant personnel on turbine management. The company delivered two gas turbines with the nominal capacity of 42.1 MW.

The power plant is constructed by Intertechelectro - Novaya Generatsiya LLC; the launch is scheduled for summer 2009. The generating facility is a part of the "Industrial Urals, Polar Urals" project infrastructure; the project is aimed at integrated development of deposits in the Polar and Sub-Polar Urals.

The nominal electric generating capacity of the gas-and-steam power plant is 124 MW, the heat-generating capacity is 90 Gcal per hour. Gas turbines by General Electric are designed specifically for Yamal's climate and can withstand temperature differences from 60 degrees below zero to 30 degrees above. This is the first time such equipment is installed in Russia.

Intertechelectro - Novaya Generatsiya LLC finances construction of the Noyabrsk plant with its own capital and with a RUR 2.54 bn credit line from Sberbank. The total investment amount is not disclosed.

As the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug government officials told RusBusinessNews, by 2010 power consumption in Yamal will grow by 26% and power shortage will reach 320 MW. To ensure a sustainable energy supply, the regional government plans on putting in place new generating facilities with the total capacity of over 460 MW.

Interteсheleсtro - Novaya Generatsiya LLC manages a group of companies that completed turnkey projects for the Nizhnevartovsk SDPP, the Tyumen TPP-1, the Igolsk-Talovoye deposit of Tomskneft OAO, and the Talimarjan TPP in Uzbekistan.
