The Ugoria State Insurance Company, which was created by the government of Yugra on November 17, 1997, is celebrating its 15th birthday.

With initial charter capital of 50 million rubles, Ugoria has steadily risen through the ranks to become one of the largest Russian insurance companies. Today the firm has about 300 representative offices in 61 Russian regions, offering clients more than 150 varieties of all types of insurance. The company's sole shareholder is the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District.

Ugoria's press office told RusBusinessNews that the firm has twice been awarded the Golden Salamander public prize for insurance, as well as the Financial Russia national award for finance and insurance, the Financial Elite of Russia award, and the international award known as the Russian Financial Olympus.
