Yamal Venison Will Be Preserved According to European Standards

In November 2009, Kometos Oy from Finland will put into operation the first train of the reindeer slaughterhouse complex in the village of Antipayuta. The venison produced will comply with the European standards.

At the end of 2010 the complex will reach its full shift capacity of 200 animals slaughtered. The contract value of the facility is 200 million roubles.

In 2002 Kometos Oy built the first complex of this kind in Yamal. In the future the Finns may get the contract for the construction of three more complexes in various locations of the autonomous okrug.

The Yamal Reindeer Company is planning to produce about a thousand tons of venison this year. The fifth part of the produce will be exported to Germany, Sweden and Greece.
