10.09.2013 — News
Karabashmed, CJSC (a subsidiary of Russian Copper Company) will begin operating a new holding furnace in November 2013.
RCC's press office told RusBusinessNews that the equipment from the Finnish firm Kumera has already arrived in the Chelyabinsk region from Finland.
The Finnish machinery will replace the existing APM140 furnace, as part of an investment project to modernize the company. The quality of the smelter slag will improve after it goes into operation.
The dismantling of the old furnace will begin in October as part of some scheduled capital repairs. All the work, including the installation and initial operation of the rotary holding furnace, should be complete within a month. This is the only project of its type in Russia.
