The Ural Plant will Launch to Manufacture Surveying Instruments in China

FSUE PA "Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant" has set up the company "UOMZ Meizhou" in Chinese ecenomic area. Wholly-owned plant's subsidiary will manufacture the surveying instruments - levels and theodolites.

The plant management told RusBusinessNews that advantages of the manufacture abroad are cheap human resources and low rent rates for production facilities in the People's Republic of China (PRC). Surveying instruments will be sold in China and neighboring countries.

Currently the lot of test equipment and kit of parts to assemble the first instruments has been delivered from Ekaterinburg to "UOMZ Meizhou". It is planned to assemble hundreds of instruments from imported components in 2009. When Chinese components are used in manufacture, the output will be up to 3 thousand levels and theodolites a year.
