Uralvagonzavod and PESA to supply Moscow with 120 trams
19.12.2013 — News
By April 1, 2015, the Uralvagonzavod research and production corporation, OJSC, along with the Czech firm PESA, will manufacture 120 low-floor trams for Moscow. Originally the plans were for the Russian corporation to partner with the Canadian corporation Bombardier on this project. However, Uralvagonzavod altered its strategy during the process of executing the contract.
UVZ’s press office told RusBusinessNews that because of the complex conditions stipulated in the contract, PESA, a Czech company, was brought in as a new partner for technology.
The contract between Uralvagonzavod and the Moscow city government calls for 120 low-floor tram cars to be supplied. The contract is valued at 8.46 billion rubles.
