Ukrainian ilmenite started to be supplied to VSMPO-AVISMA19.06.2015 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION The VSMPO-Avisma Corporation, OJSC, received the first batch of raw materials from Volnogorsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works (GOK) (Ukraine) for titanium production. The Press Service of the Corporation has informed RusBusinessNews that the annual contract for ilmenite supply was renegotiated in May with the Ukrainian state-owned United Mining and Chemical Company – a new owner of Volnogorsky GOK. Previously, the company was owned by Dmitry Firtash, businessman. Annual ilmenite demand of VSMPO-AVISMA is 120 thousand tons a year. Generally, the Corporation has received the Ukrainian raw materials. However, due to the deterioration in relations between Russia and Ukraine, the Ural Corporation was forced to seek the fallback measures, in particular, the supplies from Australia are under consideration. |
