Karabashmed hit one million tons mark in blister copper smelting

Karabashmed, CJSC (a member of Russian Copper Company Group) celebrated its start-of-production anniversary. The enterprise produced its millionth ton of blister copper. The plant operation start dates back to 1998 when Karabashmed, CJSC was established on the basis of Karabash Copper Plant, OJSC.
Since 2004, the plant has been under control of Russian Copper Company. Karabashmed has started active modernization of production which will minimize the environmental impact. Currently, Karabashmed provides jobs to over 1,300 residents of Karabash.
As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the press service of RCC, the company is actively involved into resolution of social issues in the South Urals town through investments into renovation of kindergartens, schools, and sports facilities.
