BusWorld Turkey intends to increase the number of buses exported to EMEA countries

06.04.2016 — News

The preliminary work for the 6th BusWorld Turkey Exhibition has almost been completed. The Exhibition will open at the Istanbul Expo Center on April 14 and will close on April 17, 2016.

Two years ago, the major forum of bus manufacturers operating in the countries of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) brought together 248 companies, including 170 Turkish companies. Foreign manufacturers represented 26 countries. In 2014, the exhibition was attended by 12,425 professional visitors.

The previous BusWorld Turkey Exhibition brought tangible results in 2015. Turkish manufacturers exported 44,440 buses and coaches, in the amount of 1.15 billion US dollars. In addition, significant success was achieved on the international market for suppliers of components and accessories.

According to BusWorld experts, Turkey is actively upgrading its fleet of city buses, though not neglecting the intercity transportation market. Experts believe that Turkey has good prospects for increasing bus and coach exports, as the Middle East countries, especially Iran, where the world sanctions have been lifted, greatly need them.

As the RusBusinessNews reporter points out, Turkish vehicle manufacturers have moved into an important stage. The country has adopted the Euro 6 standard that is mandatory for all vehicles registered from January 1, 2016. Manufacturers are ready to supply the required buses, as they have already made them for consumers of the European Union countries.

On April 14 – 17, three halls of the Istanbul Expo Center will showcase new models as well as the products that have already gained popularity among consumers. The flagship participants of the exhibition are such Turkish companies as OTOKAR, BMC, and TEMSA.

The two-day conference organized by the BusWorld Academy and IRU (International Road Transport Union) will be an important event of the exhibition. Its main theme will be cooperation between government authorities and manufacturers in developing innovations for modern and safe city and intercity transport.
