Karabashmed is launching a large-scale investment project

Karabashmed JSC (a member of the RCC Group) is implementing a large-scale investment project aimed at the upgrading of the converter operations and launching of the facility for copper anode casting with the annual output of 275 thousand tons. The estimated total investment cost is 9.4 billion rubles.

 

As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the RCC Press Service, the first anodes will be produced at the beginning of 2022. They will be used as raw materials by the Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant.

 

To process the increased smelter slag amounts, Karabashmed is building a facility equipped with a Metso Vertimill VTM-1500-WB vertical mill for the third stage of milling. After its renovation, the processing factory will be able to process up to 800 thousand tons of slag a year.

 

At the same time, the company is expanding its gas cleaning and metallurgical gas disposal operations. 10 new wet-type electric filters have been put into operation at the sulfuric acid facility, making it possible to reduce emissions. The sulfuric acid facility is being expanded to combine disposal of metallurgical gas and production of commercial sulfuric acid.
