THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST.

The works of Ural blacksmiths have amazed world landscape design experts and common Europeans, and attracted the royal attention as well.

A bronze alcove made by a Ekaterinburg blacksmith Konstantin Pastukhov has been exhibited at the Chelsea Flower Show, an international landscape design exhibition. The alcove is not going back home; in the near future it will be installed in London. Konstantin Pastukhov told RusBusinessNews that the show was organised under the auspices of the Queen, who personally appraised his work.

The alcove consists of three apple trees with twisted branches that form a dome. The alcove also has several bronze benches, a table with a vintage tabletop, about 100 bronze apples, and two peacocks. It took Konstantin more than one and a half years to finish this bronze masterpiece. The weight of the alcove is over 1 ton, and its price is not disclosed.

This is not the first time that the Europeans were amazed by the Ural blacksmiths' work. Undoubtedly, the Kasli cast iron pavilion was the biggest success; it won the Grand Prix at the Paris World Exhibition of 1900, for which it was especially created. It is now exhibited in one of Ekaterinburg's museums.
