Empathy Charitable Foundation of Mikhail Shelkov (VSMPO-AVISMA shareholder) awarded a scholarship to Viktoria Tereshchenko from Verkhnyaya Salda. A graduate of School No. 2 has been admitted to one of Russia's top technical universities, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. She will study on a budgetary basis at the Department of Biological and Medical Physics, majoring in Applied Mathematics and Physics. During her first year, the student will receive a monthly scholarship of 50,000 rubles from the fund, as the press service of the Empathy Foundation reported to RusBusinessNews.
"Every day I dedicated from 2 to 8 hours to preparing for examination. In the 10th grade, I participated in 15 Olympiads and attended 5 final rounds. In the 11th grade, I completed over 50 preliminary rounds in Physics and Mathematics, as well as 25 finals. During the winter and summer holidays, I attended MIPT's specialized physics camps. It was challenging to live without weekends, but my ultimate dream of gaining admission to the country's top technical university kept me motivated. I want to thank Mikhail Evgenievich and his Empathy Foundation for the scholarship and for a high appreciation of my work," says the student.
Mikhail Shelkov, founder of the Empathy Foundation, congratulated Viktoria Tereshchenko on her enrollment. A graduate of the Molecular and Chemical Physics Department of MIPT, he continues to support his alma mater, being a member of the PhysTech Union and the Board of Trustees of the PhysTech Lyceum named after P. L. Kapitsa.
Any student can participate in the free educational program Science to the Regions at MIPT, which is organized by the Empathy Foundation in collaboration with the PhysTech School Development Fund. In the spring of 2024, the project brought together 60 students from the 9th and 10th grades and 15 teachers from over ten cities in the Perm Territory and the Sverdlovsk Region. The program includes preparation for the Main State Examination and Unified State Examination in Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, as well as professional development courses for teachers. Selection for the new camp will take place this fall on the Empathy Foundation website (https://empathy-foundation.ru/).
Earlier, three schoolgirls from Verkhnyaya Salda were awarded prizes of 50 thousand rubles for excellent results in the Unified State Examination. Kirill Epishenkov from Ekaterinburg, who entered MGIMO as a result of winning the Clever and Wise TV Olympiad, also became the Empathy Foundation scholarship holder.
