SVERDLOVSK REGION

An enormous banner dedicated to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home‑front workers has appeared in Verkhnyaya Salda. The art installation, mounted on a VSMPO‑AVISMA Corporation building on Parkovaya Street, was created with the company’s support as part of the Victory Legends project.

"In the very heart of Russia’s titanium capital, a giant banner composed of thousands of portraits of Great Patriotic War participants and home‑front workers has been unfurled. This is not only a tribute to their memory, but also a powerful symbol of our people’s unity and strength," wrote Vadim Savin, head of the All-Russia People’s Front organization in Sverdlovsk Region, on his Telegram channel.

The artwork was unveiled on May 7th in the presence of Great Patriotic War veterans. Part of the canvas is an artistic image assembled from portraits of the war participants and home‑front workers from Verkhnyaya Salda.

According to Savin, this approach to commemorating the nation’s heroes is inspiring and highlights the importance of historical continuity.

"We hope such initiatives will flourish in other parts of Sverdlovsk Region—and not only on milestone anniversaries," he added.

A similar art installation was also unveiled on May 7th in another town where VSMPO‑AVISMA operates—on the square outside the Metallurg Palace of Culture in Berezniki, Perm Territory.
